Dr. Mark Greene is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counselling and Psychology at Hong Kong Shue Yan University where he teaches a range of subjects including the psychology of consciousness and psychopathology. His research interests lie in the symbolism of images in dreams, myths and fairy tales as well as in the domain of consciousness studies where the use of imagination is applied to the mind/body problem and organizational invariance. Other interests include subjective-wellbeing studies, dream interpretation in counselling and psychotherapy and ecstatic religions. He practices psychotherapy in Hong Kong and is informed by the tradition of depth psychology, especially as developed in analytical psychology.

Dr. Greene has lectured on topics ranging from communication apprehension in university students to ecstatic worship in Brazil and the I Ching to Orphic religion. He has published numerous articles on psychology, mythology and film in the journals Chinese Cross Currents, Mythosphere and Psychological Perspectives and most recently in the Encyclopedia of Psychology and Religion (Springer, 2009). He is a member of the International Association of Jungian Studies (IAJS), the Hong Kong Analytical Society and is the OECD Project Coordinator and Senior Researcher at the Economic and Wellbeing Project at Hong Kong Shue Yan University.
