mercury: the closest planet to the sun in our system named after the Roman god of commerce, communication, silver-tongued swindlers, travelers and the crossroads, recipient of the legacy of the Greek god, Hermes, messenger of the gods, trickster and sometime lover whose mytho-cultural heritage can be traced directly to the Egyptian god, Thoth, who bestowed writing upon the world thus engendering in humans the ability to work magic through word and symbol. All three are associated with esoteric arts of healing and wisdom traditions whose information is gleaned from the murkier, lower parts of the world where water naturally flows, lunar as opposed to solar revelation, knowledge that is turned inward and only applicable to the outer after it has been processed to some degree, synthesized and transformed by the individual.
