A friendly boutique counselling practice located in downtown Central, Hong Kong, the Dream Therapy Institute invites clients to use their dreams as the primary model for counselling and psychotherapy in the tradition of depth psychology. A psychology of the unconscious was pioneered by Sigmund Freud and developed by Carl Jung as a viable psychodynamic intervention for adult clients to fully realize their self-potential. Jung referred to this process as individuation; Carl Rogers, congruence and Abraham Maslow, self-realization. In this model, symptoms including depression, anxiety or low self-esteem result from a lack of integration between our conscious and unconscious minds. Dreams have been proven to provide a direct channel of communication between the two realms of consciousness and allow, not only insight and flowering of creativity, but conscious adjustment and meaningful personal growth.
